Google Business Profile: The First Thing Customers See

When someone searches for a local business on Google, they often see a listing appear in the search results before the website — with the business name, photos, hours, reviews, address, and action buttons. That's a Google Business Profile (GBP). The profile itself is a free Google product — but setting it up correctly takes time and expertise.

A well-configured GBP dramatically increases the chance of appearing in Google Maps and the "local 3-pack" — the top three map results that sit above all other search results and receive the majority of local clicks.

Why it matters so much

  • It's often the first thing a potential customer sees — before they even visit the website
  • It shows reviews, photos, hours, and location at a glance — building trust instantly
  • A complete, active GBP signals to Google that the business is legitimate and relevant — improving local rankings
